Marketing Bed and Breakfast Presentation:

FREE and Effective Ways To Increase B&B Occupancy & Revenue

By Matt Landau, Member of the Association of Place Branding & Public Diplomacy

marketing bed and breakfastFirst, the 3 principles behind my Boost Occupancy for Bed and Breakfasts report:

Bed and Breakfast marketing is about creativity, innovation, persistence, and making the most out of what you have. My report will (1) help you improve both the quality and quantity of inquiries you receive. It will then (2) show you how to turn more of your existing inquiries into actual bookings. Lastly, it (3) integrates innovative branding techniques to help you form a lean and scientific formula for acquiring higher occupancy rates and more revenue for your B&B.

And how is the Boost Occupancy Report for B&B Owners structured?

- The first section of the report focuses on your website or, what I call, “herding the cattle.” It addresses the unusual ways Bed and Breakfast owners drive traffic to their website (trust me, this is not your typical marketing 101).

- The second portion focuses on the conversion or turning inquiries into actual bookings. No matter what occupancy rate you have, I guarantee you’re not monitoring these valuable indicators.

- This segues into building and establishing a reputation (both online and offline). If you ever wondered how top B&Bs get all that press, this section reveals those secrets.

- The fourth section is all about forging awesome relationships with companies, services, and individuals who can fill your B&B free of charge (travel agents are mentioned for the extent of about three sentences).

- The last section is entitled “Making Do With What You Have.” The epicenter of entrepreneurial creativity and ingenuity, there was stuff I learned when I wrote this section that changed everything for us.

- The entire report is written in simple, easy-to-read language and can be followed by B&B owners of all skill levels. The footnotes in the report are all references and resources I personally endorse. They are not paid for or even necessary to achieve my promised results.

5 Facts You MUST Understand If You WANT to Improve Your Bed and Breakfast Marketing:

1. You must critically analyze your reservation rate (aka the amount of inquiries that turn into actual reservations). If you’re not familiar with this number, it’s the percentage of inquiries that convert into bookings. Tracking this rate at your Bed and Breakfast is extremely important if you want to improve.

2. Relying solely on organic SEO or PPC campaigns leaves you extremely vulnerable. Bed and Breakfasts don’t have the budgets of large hotels, but what they lack in manpower, they can make up in might.

3. Tracking your marketing decisions and their results is the best way to book rooms. If you are in charge of your Bed and Breakfast’s marketing and you’re not tracking every promotional investment, you’re not able to track what works.

4. Exercising some expertise in your town or city can work tremendously to your advantage. Bed and Breakfast marketing boils down to specificity, creativity, and expertise. If you can convey expertise you add value to the experience of your guest’s stay.

Before I get to #5, be sure to sign up for my Bed and Breakfast Marketing newsletter. I don’t send out mail too often, but when I do, it’s REALLY GOOD.

5. If you’re not getting any bookings, there are some immediate steps you need to take. Increasing your B&B’s exposure is a slow process but there are some very effective changes you can make right now.

marketing bed and breakfastAdam Lee, who purchased the report when I barely had finished a number of months ago, was shocked to find how many techniques he was ignoring. He gives this word of warning: “prepare to actually be overloaded with bookings at your B&B. In other words, prepare to turn reservations away. That’s how effective Matt’s report was for us. We are turning guests away.”
